This project, which is being carried out in partnership with Every Day Language Solutions and Mothertongue, is designed to help the new clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) roll out effective communication services for hard to reach and excluded groups. The partnership will roll out learning events centred around the commissioning process in different areas across England to share and embed good practice in the work of CCGs.
It is hoped that the programme will not only improve the health experiences of patients and their carers from the most disadvantaged communities, but will also increase the confidence of clinicians when working with hard to reach groups both through more effective and safe use of interpreters and the more efficient use of funds. See the Bulletin for CCGs: Issue 53, 20 February 2014.
