Jabeer Butt joined a panel of experts and service users to speak to BBC London about the experiences and challenges of dementia in the Asian community. Speaking alongside Cheryl Jackson from Culture Dementia, Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Imperial College and Shadia Ousta Doerfel, whose father suffered from dementia, the show considered the reasons for poor engagement with dementia services, the limited vocabulary relating to dementia in some South Asian languages and problems relating to diagnosis and treatment.
