Strengthening regional networks is a core part of the Department of Health Strategic Partners programme to strengthen links between the DH and the 35,000 UK third sector organisations and improve dialogue on health and social care policy.
We have several approaches:
- Working to engage the black and minority ethnic voluntary and community sector with the policies and strategies of national bodies such as PHE and NHS England;
- Working with other voluntary sector partners in the Strategic Partners scheme;
- Linking black and minority ethnic groups to each other and to existing mainstream regional health networks, to raise awareness of influencing and engagement opportunities and to help them work together to foster a stronger voice;
- Working with national black and minority ethnic organisations, through the development of CORE, forming stronger individual relationships and joining up the intelligence and experience gained at local level.
